everyone is entitled to their opinion so i have nothing to feel against alan shearer or anybody for that matter.

the bottom line is leave Portugal aside. this worldcup as a whole has been an insult to the "quality" of the matches we have been privileged to watch so far in the previous World Cups. i mean let's forget our favorites for a moment. can you point out a single match that you can proudly say "wow, what a match, and what a nail biting finishm and what a play by this player".
the WC is almost over and we are down to one match (the final). i cannot hope a lot to happen in the final. i did NOT get to watch a single match so far in this WC which made me stand up in my feet and applause.

okay Brazil Vs Ghana was a tight one but then its just Ghana. Italy vs. France or France vs. Brazil may come as more enthralling ones. but they are way behind in comparison to what we saw in ENgland Vs Argentina match of 1998.

As I already said, today's match was one of the worst semi finals i have ever seen. Okay france scored, but why the heck did they chickened out later on. It was totally embarassing at least for me to see 11 french players going on for defending. Even Ricardo had to come forward in an attempt to score.

i dont a lot from the finals because both are DEFENSIVE TEAMS. this is where south american teams are so good. they just look for scoring. which make the match good for we viewers craving for a QUALITY match.


All in all, this WC is one of the worst events, at least for me, in terms of quality. forget portugal.

yeah one can easily understand why Allan Shearer said such thing about Portugal-- after all, they got thrashed by the Portugese side. Everytime England gets out of the world cup, these people find some lame excuses. Sometimes, Beckham is held responsible for getting red card and now rooney is getting all the blame. that speaks volume of Enlglish mindset. Lets admit it... England's perfromance in this world cup was mediocre. they should consider themselves lucky to have reached Quarter-final stage. And Rooney's red card was absolutely justifiable. He kicked the groin of the opponet -- and that too after he lost the possession of the ball. then he pushed C ronaldo.

About the travesty of the world cup had Portugal reached the final--- well this world cup has already been a shame after italy was even allowed to participate. There is something called ETHICS in every sports. And with all the match-fixing scandal going on in Italian SerieA, FIFA should have barred a bunch of thugs, match-fixers and betters (Italy) from playing in the World Cup. Itlalian footbal has been tarnished with match-fixing from a long time. thats why they call the Italian league "DIRTY LEAGUE " in Europe. Bufffon have openly admiited of his involvement in betting. And yeah this has been a travesty of the World Cup- mr. Shearer.

I will tell you what? Christiano Ronaldo is a talented lad, there is no doubt about it. I just wished he would just for once stood up and play a good football. Why is he all over the place? So many dives, Portugal made a mess of this World Cup and it is such a shame really that so much talent is wasted. Luz Felipe Scolari, what can I say about the genius? I cannot believe that he will be proud of this kind of display in World Cup football where more than 2 billion viewers watch it and judge his team.

Figo, well he should first of all had been banned for playing this game. I cannot believe Fifa allowed him to play.
