More Pay, Less Work?

Our sarkari karmacharis will see more money in their bank accounts, as the government thinks a small increase in talab will make our freeloaders work harder without corruption and all the other dadagiri nataks. The Chief Secretary will take home some 90 grand a month, and of course, if we factor in the perks, allowances, fuel, drivers, and more, it would be three times that.

The folks at the bottom of the sarkari ladder will be making at least Rs 28,000+, and that is good enough for a person to survive but not much left to save or invest or do anything except buy more data to watch TikTok reels. And let us not even talk about the private sector where nurses work 12-hour shifts and barely make Rs 12,000!

While we the taxpayers grind through corruption, inflation and frustration to keep feeding our sarkari folks, these lazy arse buffoons enjoy pay hikes, pension and perks. I guess we are funding their life-long tea break!

It's funny that our public school teachers have more fun with less work than the other sarkari karmacharis. Senior teachers now make almost Rs 75,000 a month while primary school teachers, with a subject or two failed in SLC, will still pocket Rs 34,000. Why on Earth do we have teachers who haven't even passed 10th grade teaching our kids?

Well, the past governments recruited their own jholeys for the teaching jobs, and now we can't fire them or bring in new regulations because then they will be out on the streets, dancing and sleeping and threatening the government with a total public school shutdown! And we still have a 50% fail rate in our SEE exams, and if we had tied that up to their performances, then our public school teachers should be making half of what they get!

How long will we keep on wasting our taxpayers' money to maintain a bloated bureaucracy? It's time to get rid of the same old 60s paper files and push to digitize all admin work and build automated portals, and the pay should be tied to performance, not just inflation and other nataks!

We need to reduce the size of our civil service, make it a lean, tech-driven one, and maybe we can finally pay our sarkari folks twice what they are getting today, and that could at least minimize corruption in our sarkari offices. Do we all really believe that our government employees will work honestly and with integrity when their pay is not enough to let alone pay school fees and rent for a family of four?

Even most of us common folks need at least Rs 50,000 a month to survive in this country. And all that money will be spent on rent, food and school fees for a kid or two. And when medical emergencies happen, then we have to borrow from friends, relatives or loan sharks.

The private sector is much worse, where our private schools, hospitals, factories and trading businesses make tons of profits and pay their employees peanuts. It's time our government strictly enforces labor laws and fair wages and also imposes hefty fines for those who keep on exploiting their own employees, evading taxes and laundering money overseas.
