Rangoli is not Nepali tradition. Stick to you roots instead of being a "khachhad".
And yes in Nepali we call it Depawali or Tihar.

Pandemic, you got it all wrong. We are not asking our Indian neighbors not to celebrate Diwali. All we are saying is Nepal has its own unique version and is called Tihar or Deepawali. LetтАЩs keep our unique culture intact. Why dilute it by calling it a different name and do things which we had not done in the past?

тАЬDidi Bahiniko aasirwad Daju bhailai lagirahos, sayapatri na oiliyesamma yamaraj le pani lana nasakosтАЭ

Hamro Tihar afnai kisim le deusi bhailo kheldai manau, bideshi nakkal garnu parne awasaktya chhaina, Hamro chad afaima paripurna chha!

Terai people of Nepal might do "Rangoli" thing, may be in Nepalgunj, Biratnagar, Bhairahawa, Janakpur, Birgunj, etc. There is no doubt that "Rangoli" has Indian origin but we shouldn't be looking down upon it and totally reject the idea. Because, thousand of Indian women get married to Nepalese men in Terai area and they do bring their indian heritage and culture to Nepal and is forwarded to their offspring.

We people from border have shared culture with India. Everything is not black and white. There are different shades of gray. Bigots donтАЩt know that.
