What a brilliant political idea for a country like Nepal. Looking at the political history, Nepal would have collapsed without it. At the time, I thought it was a bad idea. The past and recent political maneuvers only proved its importance. Mahendra was able to sack the parliament in 2017 with out any repercussions by the public because the power was clustered in the palace. And, Girija was able to again dissolve the parliament in 2047 without much public repercussions because power was clustered among the Bahuns. Same with Gyanendra. Oli is facing the most intense public repercussions than any other previous leaders because this time power is not clustered in one group, it is divided. Even Madheshi parties are divided.

Political chaos in Kathmandu used to cause chaos in whole Nepal. And, politics in Kathmandu has been chaotic for the last 7 decades. For people's relief, "सङियेता र समानुपातिक" system seems to providing some sort of managerial normalcy in Nepal as the provincial governments are there to manage day to day life of people in their jurisdiction even when politics in Kathmandu is an utter mess. At least something is running. 😶
