^ Exactly! no tention

The hardliner monarchists and the hardliner republicans are both retarded people. They are truely biased people. Both of them share more or less same responsibilty for what the country is now.

Someone said here that the king got chance for one and half year, had public support and messed it all up. The truth is that the king placed himself in totally wrong place. So, from the starting he was heading for a failure. Noone in this world can succeed from that place. A country like Nepal need "INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT". This is all due to the grace of hardliner monarchists.

The king is doing a right thing now. Sometimes silence does all the work for you. He sould remember he need to be the king of all nepalese..........be it monarchists or republicans. This is the only way to survive.

And Nepalese should realize that we owe to the institution of monarchy lot more than what we owe to the political parties. Every Nepalese at least owe their identity to the insitution of monarchy.

Excatly Doofy. I agree with no tension and Doofy.

I think no government or insititution is perfect and flawless. But still we need monarchy for the future of Nepal. Give them very limited power but keep them. Its better for all of us. Changing government and changing names is not a solution for development we all need to change our attitudes towards our beloved country. I will start another post and ask sajhabasi to give thier opinion to develop Nepal and how. What they can do?

Copycat

People are paying tax no matter who is the head of the state. It can be debatable how much we can afford. What is for sure is that if "Loktantra" of GPK continues we will be losing all the tax payers of terai.

Mr. Copicat,     At least we know that where our tax money is going, every country spend some part of tax to preserve their heritage and Royal Institution is a part of our heritage. Do you even know how much of your tax money belongs to the corrupt neetas in foreign banks?

I am just making a point. Its useless now one way or another monarchy is finished in Nepal. Now we have  the resposibility to defend Nepal from these neetas. Change your attitide and deeds not the names. Changing Royal to Nepal would not help. This strategies work for simple uneducated Nepalis, but not for us. Unfortunately mass of uneducated Nepalis are more, these neetas play with thier innocent sentiments to misuse the power given to them. If you have any innovative idea please post your comment to my another thread. Nomatter you are a royalist or communist only thing that matters is that you care for your country or not. How determined you are to change the future of Nepal? Lets begin now.........................

If we do not get the powerful and democratic king, pour nation will head towards the pre-Prithvi Narayan Shah era. Terai will be the first one to secede. Some of us might have to go back to our respective state to get another entirely new passport. Some of us will have Indian passports. Move your place of residence in Nepal to Kathmandu as soon as possible if one wants to remain Nepalese. Nepal might be limited to Kathmandu valley only. We will see it pretty soon. Just a matter of time. Keep watching. Now our nation has become a permanent mess.

My view is not that of extremist but certainly I am not status quoist either. I haven't lost my identity now and I will not either without the king. I even see better future of Nepal sans king. King is not only the king what we have seen now, there are hundreds of kings around the king. The monarchy had relevancy in certain period of time, but it does not have any more. It is we who can draw the lines of our future ourselves.

I have a question for you guys (for healthy discussion only, my intention is not to arouse anybody). Is there any country in the world the people of which have their indentity protected because of the king or queen? Or do you think this is a unique reality of Nepal only? Do we really admire Japanese becasue of the king they have? I don't think so. It is only the hardwork of Japanese people, their entrepreneurship and belief on themselves. The same is the case with European countries who have monarchies. Probably we had thought a system with constitutional monarcy in certain point of time in history, but the situation did not remain as expected for various reasons, which are very clear and apparent. Why should we bear the responsibility to continue the institution which does not have any relevancy in the present context? Do you really believe Terai issues will be solved should the king come back again? I say no because there is certain section of the soceity, which fought for more than a decade against the king and also the present situation is not that people believe on King as the incarnation of god. Or do you believe this group can be controlled by force? Otherwise present your logical and viable alternative so that people like me can be convinced and would stand for the monarchy.

my take is that Nepal is too small and too diverse to organize as a nation under a republic - forget federal republic, in a nationalist point of view. i don't think there are any other means to "united sovereign nepal" besides the institution of a hindu monarchy.

To be very frank, I dint like to extend the thread as its been already long. But my question is how do we placate the situation while certain group/s is/are fighting against the institution? What is the viable alternative?  No doubt it would be a mere stupidity to think of a disintegrated Nepal. But I have nowhere in the world seen the integration/disintegration related to the king in the 21st century. It is only in Nepal!

I know it is also our stupidity to discuss about the king who is no more a king in Nepal. But just a time pass in weekend!!

Thanks and bye bye.

I don't want to argue whether there is a king or not. Only seven people and the people who follow their whip has casted their votes. I have not voted yet and neither have millions of Nepalese. If u believe seven people have ur mandate its upto you. As for me I have not given my mandate to them

Hey Copycat

I didn't see ur first comment. Nepal is far more diverse than Japan as far as ethnicity is concerned. So you cannot directly relate Japan with Nepal where the need of a unifying factor is more required.

You said you cannot see why disintegration is related to the institution of monarchy but all the recent examples point to that direction. You can take Afganisthan, Sikkim or Iran as far as I can remember.

There is another thread that urges not to post items in this thread, and I wanted to post following text to make sure that it is read at both threads.

If I am supposed to select Paras (killed 5 innocent nepalis) vs Prachanda (killed 15,000 Nepalis), I will go for Paras: it is called dilemma. With current drama of Political disintegration in Nepal, it seems I should go for continuation of Kingship in Nepal, bhalai kina nahos Gyanendra was bizzare, Paras was a killer, and they are far better than Maoists. Who is less worst, right?

Once Gyanendra (=king) is thrown out, and Nepal is turned into a Republic state, I can feel more chaos to follow, and it will never return to Normalcy as many illeterate and/or over ambitious Nepalis would feel.

If Nepal becomes Republic, Maoist will turn "Mountain Part" of Nepal into Cambodia of 1970s. Since Maoist don't have control over Terai, and Terai will be controlled by non-Maoists with the help of India (because India won't like commies, bhalai kina nahos they used Maoists to arrive here), and it will help Maoists to rule over Pahad portraying southern fighters as traitors, themselves as messaih /saviors / nationalist Nepalis.

Please note that, here, souther Terai will fight against Commies in Pahad does not mean to pin point the currently referred Terai-Madhesh Bashis in that group, but I mean those who don't like to be a commie, will join forces in Terai to fight back commies. It will turn out to be a civil war like North-South Vietnaam, and the commies will empty the NRB reserves, and turn Pahad Nepal like North Korea for sometime, and finally, Nepal will become Bhutan (the security under the control of India) just the way Vietnamis kicked out Polpot from Cambodia.

Then, Nepalis will return back to their normal life where Bharatiya Gulams will be holding the political power in Nepal. Nepal will be a country in name, but with no independent decision making power.

I was a republic supporter during 2006 upheaval in Kathmandu, but with changing political scenario, I have realized that Republic is not a right choice for Nepal. Kingship in Nepal is not Gyanenedra or Paras alone, it has a history that goes beyond PN Shah ..... Mallas, Lichibi .... all of them tried to bring great things to Nepal, and certainly, a few were bad, and Gyanendra and Paras might be bad, but they are not as bad as Prachanda.

Jai Nepal.

Friends,

Prakash Chandra Lohani once said in defence of monarchy that, the republic set up does not suit to our country at this time of our history, because it will create a huge power vaccume in the country. Such a vaccume could bring unprecendented chaos and may lead to disintegration and dissolution of our country. This is what happening right now. In absence of a strong leadership, who can be seen as a Sarbamanya Neta for the moment, such as Ganeshman was in 2046 revolution, we are having risk of losing our identity as a Nepalese and foreseeing worse to come ahead. This is exactly the consequence of power vaccume and leadership crisis. It is obvious to feel in such a worse period that King's ruling was better than now. However, I don't believe such a power vaccume lasts long. And therefore, we don't need to keep supporting monarchy for such a temporary cause.

We all agree that current leadership from parties are incompetent. They are not honest to country and people. I am very unhappy with their cheating attitude particulary when they declared the country republic. They might have done right job but in wrong way. They must be honest to go to CA election and dare to accept whatever be the choice of people. The CA's decision would be the only undisputed bottomline to sketch pathway to go ahead. I felt so embaraassed when Mr. Fataha Baburam was declaring in BBC that we need CA election just to rubber stamp their republic declaration and decide the date to chase away the King from our country. These are the same leaders who operate on remote control of Indian embassador, and have lost all their credibility to speak for peace and prosperous Nepal.

My immediate reaction after the interview was like, We need Kingship for the moment because it is the only institution that stands strong for national integrety. Until there is Nepal, we have place to fight for democracy. However, lately, I am thinking that if a bunch of young leaders come in the scene to displace the current generation of rotten leadership and fill up the possibility of power vaccume, prolly, that might work excellent. The alternate of power vaccume should not be the continuation of Kingship.

Kingship in its old format does not gonna work for better Nepal. There is nobody in the King's camp who could offer an alternate leadership with vision and hope for the people. The development process was slowed down while King was in power. Yeah I may support Kingship once again if and only if all educated King's supporters who are currently working or living abroad decide to go back Nepal to help for the troubled King. In such a case, King certainly would have a team of good people who know how to build the nation addressing the problems, how to clean the dirt left by parties and how to develop the nation fast. Otherwise, if the King is to be supported by the same Kamal Thapa, Tulsi Giri, Sharachandra Shah and company, I will say - Bye Bye, no more Kingship.

I hear you, Channa Tarkaari, when you said:

"I felt so embaraassed when Mr. Fataha Baburam was declaring in BBC that we need CA election just to rubber stamp their republic declaration and decide the date to chase away the King from our country."

Note: the phrase: TO RUBBER STAMP. Funny is not it?

Well, I am not sure anyone out here will dare to go back to Nepal and work with alienated King, and face YCL action:

"Yeah I may support Kingship once again if and only if all educated King's supporters who are currently working or living abroad decide to go back Nepal to help for the troubled King. In such a case, King certainly would have a team of good people who know how to build the nation addressing the problems, how to clean the dirt left by parties and how to develop the nation fast. "

It is not going to happen. I was talking in my earlier posting about who is less worst. My previous posting was just about my wishes. Nepal is going to be a Republic country, and another Bhutan. Atleast 100,000 people will die in next 5 years, and millions will go to India and become new Indians. This will happen in a matter of week, before Indian Army invades Nepal. Indian army will face a fate like in Sri Lanka in 1988 or so, but they will not return like they returned from Sri Lanka, rather they will be posted in Northern Border of Nepal. Meantime, Blood thirsty Maoist + YCL will run over Kathmandu, and Kathmandu will see blood everywhere. Some lucky will be successful in crossing Nepal Borderto Indian border and reach beyond the border. Maoist concept of dividing country according to your surname or race will be prime reason behind all these happenings. Maoism will be Plague in Modern Nepal. I wish I am wrong.

For Bathroomcoffe who make this point: " And India will never take over Nepal they already have Pakisthan, Tamil Tigers, Khalisthan, Hndus and Muslims to worry about ... they dun need Nepali Republic tigers to add to that. "

Man, forget about Republican Tigers! If I'm correct, we already have Madhesi Tigers. तराइ ले थर्काउदा सुरुवाल भिजेको पनि थाहा पाउनुपर्‍यो। I could not understand why some people have hard time to realize the fact that India is creating all those chaos in order to make every Institute of this tiny country failed so that they can annex it. I saw some people argue that India's interest is only to tap down the water resources. My point is that Indians still believe that Nepal is a leftover in their federal union. It's not only the Indian authority, you can feel it in every Indian's blood. Go and talk to some educated Indian guys, then only you might realize the fact.

Monarchy is the only Institute that can provide an uncoditional symbol of national unity in Nepal. I agree with the points made by chana tarkari and GP except about making an educated peoples team to help the king. Definitely, we are not advocating here for an absolute monarchy. तर, राजा लाई  सबै को साझा बनाउम। Let's give due respect  to this Institute and let's not make absurd comment on it.  Let's work to foster the true democracy in Nepal, not the Girija typo. Let's make every politicians mandatory to be accountable to the people of Nepal.  जनता को दुहाइ दिएर सबै निर्णय आँफै गर्ने प्रबिती को भन्दाफोर गरौम। Let's analyse what went wrong in our democracy and national integrity. Let's brainstorm and put our collective voices here to get back our proud Nepal.
