There is no way to get greencard directly from f1, unless you start a business backed by venture capitalist. If you are at MIT or Harvard or Stanford, follow that path. But, If you are talking about family sponsorship, then its another story. Your parents, or own brother or sister can sponsor you if they are citizen already. It takes years to get your greencard this way.
