Not a new thing. I'm not christian, and never going to be the one. But no need of so much hatred for him.

Yesailai bhancha "aulaa dinda duduula nilney." It's wonderful that Nepal has become secular. But using that secular protection, these people are trying to make Nepal non-secular. While on one hand Sudeep Khadka says with pride and pleasure that Nepal is now a secular country with religious freedom. Yet, he said he prays everyday to make Nepal into a Christian kingdom. Talk about being confused and brainwashed. These kind of people who do not believe in the religious/philosophical diversity will cause one of two things. 1. They will bring their likes and try to convert the nation into their religion. This is being done by many of the followers of non-native religions, not only Christians but also Muslims and others. We now have Muslim Mukti Morcha as one of the political forces in Terai. Forget Terai, just take a stroll around Ratna Park on Friday afternoon, you will know what I am talking about. 2. They will provoke and create Hindu fundamentalism. Much like Taliban in Afghanistan, Shiv Sena and similar brand of intolerant Hindu nationalists will get an excuse to pull us back into dark ages, because of these people who want to proselytize the masses.

First of all I don't believe in preaching one's religion to others. I have got sick to my stomach when few Mormon guys have told me that my Hindu religion is wrong and their religion is right. Nepal is a country infested with casteism. Submarine folks (pani muni ko jaat) like Sarki, Kasai, Damai etc., are looked down by Bahuns/Chettris. Also Nepal is a poor country. So as long as we have this mentality of differentiation by caste & poverty in Nepal, opportunistic crusaders will entice poor people & Submarine folks into becoming Christians. It’s the same anywhere. If you ever visit South India, you will see many South Indian Christians especially in places like Mangalore. If you research their background, they will either come from a poor background or belong to low caste. For many Submarine folks in Nepal, converting into Christianity looks to be the best option since they are sick & tired of being treated badly by the society. Also since Christian missionaries have money, they see a chance to get out of poverty. In my personal opinion, this is a great hazard & divide in our Hindu religion. Tolerance is key.

no sane person will convert to any religion. However some might just leave their religion which is okay but converting from one to another is just plain dumb and not using you head or you don't have any to use in the first place. eventhough i am techniqcally a Hindu i don't like the idea of other people converting into hinduism.(yea right as if one could) however understanding and studying for philosophical and academic purposes is welcome. personally if anybody can convince me logically that their reilgion is better than mine i am ready to convert. haha as if religion is logical. religion demands faith. definition of which is to take something to be true without any tangible evidence.

I do not support the idea of converting people. I get irritated when these missionaries say that my religion is not good or if i need to get rid of my sin then join their religion. What BS is that? You follow whatever you want, but don't come and tell me that my faith has no value. Bunchaa krapppp.

i don't mind ppl converting to christianity, its their wish. i'm just scared about the missionaries coming to my dhoka to preach in nepal and getting their asses kicked. these missionaries would be able to convert some 'submarine' folk (from maila dai). and its all well and good for the ppl converting for their own good. its only if christians make a big deal about christianity being the supreme religion, i'm gonna turn into a hindu/buddhist extremist and burn some churches. peace on earth!!!

Christians must know that astrology came from South Asia. So, the three wise guys following a star when Jesus was born is just a prank from some guy from India trying to be Buddha among the ignorant middle easterners (after Buddha, it was clear that becoming god depended on how you marketed yourself). There are claims that Jesus might have been a spiritual guy and spiritualism comes from Hinduism and Buddhism. There are too many coinciding events that do not belong to the Middle East and at the same time, they also point that Christianity was nothing but some inferior version of Hinduism. See http://www.usnews.com/usnews/news/articles/060417/17christ_3.htm

How dare he pray that Nepal be a Christian nation when he is already proud to be in a secular country! Well reports say that Christianity is the religion with most followers but is at also at the highest rate of decline. That is why they are targeting a freshly secularized nation. Nepal is a Hindu/Buddhist nation!
