Especially for someone that isn't good with public speaking and presentations (BA positions require this).

Can someone recommend anything for someone that studied Accountancy?

Eventually you cannot do without speaking skills, but that can be learned as you progress u just need to start. It doesn't matter what is your background what matters is your willingness to learn and dedication. If you wanna start as developer there are so many source on internet, One such example is https://freecodecamp.org.
All it matter is you start somewhere with genuine desire to learn not just for money. Good luck !!

Fair point. But learning a technical thing as opposed to non-technical is always likely to pose a dilemma. People with non-tech background would definitely prefer it, don't you agree?

I switched from accounting to BA. If you bring in database skills from accounting such as Excel, MS access, some basic SQL (access and Excel are the base to understand data), your financial knowledge, it's rewarding. You should also learn about different diagrams, webpage mock ups using ms Visio or some other tools available. Good luck.

Recommends -
if you are not that good in math and want kinda easy and light Hussle at work
- Product owner/scrum master/ Business Analyst
- QA

- If you like doing math, go for backend (any programming - python is HOT)

- if you like User Interface - go for UI development (ReactJS, Angular etc)

No matter whatever background you belong to, IT is cool one to get job quickly and good pay.

YOU NEED ONLY 6 MONTHS HARD WORKING AND DEDICATION TO LAND ON IT JOB.

Join any creepy consultancy.

Scrum master is hard . It needs a lot of collaboration and people skills to run Sprint. Qa is not like what it used to be like 10 years ago. Manual qa is almost non existent and needs a good programming and people skills. Everyone is getting into IT now a days, long hours, pressure and immense competition is always there. Better buckle up and pull ur socks and develope the skills.

@Manual QA is almost non-existent”
That’s not true:
All my last 15 years multiple projects we have manual QA.
Yup fortune 100-500 companies
Automation is an optional and good to have.
Scrum master have lot of meetings for business requirements, but they are not under intense pressure to finish stories /coding like developer.
They need jira and confluence which are for stories and documentation.
More availability of jobs are there than competition.

Dev-ops are another option with cloud certification. More pay more opportunities.
