When will we stop blaming foreign hands?

Our SLC board-first and later Phd Wallah Dr Saab goes to Delhi for some conference and talks about how deepfakes and algorithms played their part in our election. I think our old politicians should stop blaming this and that every time they lose or are out of power. Baburam was not contesting any election, but when he had the chance to lead this country, he did little except use the 'Mustang' vehicle for his ride while his cadres did enjoy the loot then. Hisila Didi does not win any brownie points for zero corruption as well.

First of all, wasn't it India who helped to bring the old political parties and the Maoists to the dinner table and sign their own agreements to conduct mass protests to topple the then King Gyanendra's solo rule? Our political parties think only their cadres played their part in people's movements in this country, but it is clear that the public rose to demand changes, and our old political parties milked our sentiments to get into power and screw us all.

If we go all the way back to the 50s and till 2008, then we see the 'Indian' help in all our political battles. The House of Shah has to thank India for getting them back to power after 100+ years of Rana disco dance then. Then our old political parties have to thank India for helping them to get into power after 30+ years of Panchayat's solo rule. The Maoists have to thank India for helping them with satellite phones and more during their uncivil war when some of us were using dial-up modems to check out Yahoo.com

Our old political parties have to thank India for bringing them to the dining table with the Maoists to come up with their plan to topple then King Gyanendra's solo rule and then we became a Republic.

And when we finally did come up with the world's best constitution, India was pissed as hell for their own reasons and we had to endure months of blockade when gas cylinders were sold in the black market for Rs 10,000 and Rs 1,000 for a liter of petrol. Some old party cadres boast about Oli's patriotic stand then but I guess they were not the ones who had to pay through the roof to make sure they had enough cooking gas to cook meals for their families.

The election results are out but it seems that the defeated ones and those who have been milking the system for the past thirty years want to bring this 'foreign interference' thing and blame somebody outside the country for RSP's thundering victory.

You can blame AI or deepfakes or algorithms or aliens or the CIA or whoever for your electoral losses but when will you blame yourself for leading this country into ruin for the past two decades since we became a Republic?

You curse the Nepali public for being bhedas and giving the young ones a chance to govern us but Oli and Deuba and Prachanda were in their 40s and 50s when they came to power, and look at the corruption they engaged in while playing musical chairs to be in power. At least, the young ones today who will be our lawmakers are not like the sadakchaaps of yesterday.

So stop blaming foreign hands for everything. If you have the courage, then admit foreign help for your rise to power. Balen was called Lucifer. The old political parties were confident that Facebook and social media followers would not translate into votes but they were wrong. They also accused the young ones for blackmailing their parents to vote for RSP. Why do you blame them or their parents for voting for change this time?

Oli was confident that RSP would only get 7 seats and they would get 100+. I guess he was right after all. The only thing is that the results turned out to be just the opposite. The UML wallahs are still acting like nothing is wrong with Oli heading the party. The guy was defeated or should we say, thrashed in the polls but he still thinks he will continue to lead the party till his kidneys run out of power.

The Nepai Congress 2.0 did nothing to change the public's perception of the old grand party. A new Sabhapati who couldn't say if Deuba had really hoarded cash in his house and mumbled out of the question by saying that he will create a shakti-saali ayog to investigate all corruption scams since the 1990s. Gagan is not an old man. He is a Gen X but first he should have clarified his father-in-law's tight relationship with Kumar Ghaite then and his current relationship with Dons like Dawa Lama and Radhey bhai.

The Madhes-based parties are left with nothing. Earlier, it was all about getting a few seats in the House and some more from the PR category. This time, they will not make any money selling their PR seats and will not even join any coalition government because, for the first time in two decades, we have a super-majority government in town.

The House of Shah was blamed for all the problems in this country in the 1990s. In 2008, we became a Republic. We got rid of the monarchy but gave birth to hundreds of mini-Mahrajas. RSP has won the public's mandate to govern us for the next five years because we blame these mini-Maharajas for all the mess in this country since 2008.

Balen represents the real Nepal, where half of the population are under 30 and do not want the same old political games played to get into power and rip off the public in the name of the Republic. Prithivi Narayan Shah unified this land into Nepal. Balendra Shah has unified the voters to make Nepal great again.

For the first time in our history, we are not talking about Pahad and Madhes and about castes and anything divisive. We are talking about transparency, accountability, and good governance. The old parties talked about it, but did just the opposite.

Balen is our Obama. Let's hope he does the best he can to get this country on the right track without foreign interference, but with foreign investment to generate employment, increase our exports and slowly move us to prosperity without being dependent only on remittance to keep us all alive.
