well actually I have to go back home for personal reasons which i did explained it to my Int'l advisor but she still acts differently, now she wants me to wait till I get my grade which will be too late for me as I have book my ticket by this friday, if I didn't then it's going to be way to expensive, beside I am planning for this august. What i need to ask is it really hard for one to go back home taking a semester break....Plzz guys let me know on this as sson as possible.

Babyaro bro, so far as i know you can't be out of school more than 5 months in a year. Friend of mine had a same problem last year. he wanted to take semester break in fall but advisor clearly told him not to take fall break because he didn't go summer school. I think your advisor is right....bro!

Okay Normally i dont reply to these kind of threads, but here i think i will. I am telling you this cause this incident happened for real and the guy is working in the US Navy right now, and he has an IQ of 800. He is a Nepali and the below incident happened to him. If you have family emergencies specially while in the US, you can have your right to innocence in anyway as Bush said families don’t apart in Rio Grande. Forget about the school, even if you are in US Prison in a serious felony, and you have some family emergency back home in Nepal you can just talk to your warden, have paroled and go back to your country. But remember, you have to go to the US Embassy to apply for (AH-VISA) category and fly to the prison back to the US to finish your time. If you don’t have money for the travel in such case you can apply for the Prison Credit Union for the loans. My Friend thought about not returning back to the US and elope with his GF, but those smart US Police stuck his ass with GPS and GIS devices. I suggested him to come back. So why dont you give your Int' adviser this example, and work it out. DAKY

one of my friends went to nepal for the whole semester to attend his sister's wedding. he had no problem getting the approval. fyi - assuming that you are doing a 4yrs degree program: 1. u can take one semester break if it's a valid reason 2. u can do Course Load Reduction for one semester if u r having hard time paying ur tuition or some other reasons. 3. u can take less than a full course (even just one class) on the very last semester of your school.
