hi everyone, I am in doubt regarding H1B filing. my opt is going to be expired in March 20. as you know april 1 is deadline for filing ? can i file H1B at such circumstances ? thank you

Yes, you are still eligible to go through h1b process, however, becoz ur opt is expired, you will be on F1 extension status that means you cannot work from the day your opt expires till Oct 1 if h1b is approved.

ok thank you.. during that f1 extension period what would be my status ? do i need to leave the country or i can stay here...is it best to go back to F1 by getting cpt from day 1 college or work using TPS EAD

Yo dont have to leave, can stay in US till october to work on h1b. Not sure how it'll affect if you start using TPS EAD during that time.

I would just join a college and use your TPS ead to work so you maintain your F1 and still have the job.
