Hi guys,
My brother-in-law wants to come visit us in the US. I am supposed to graduate in May. When would be better chances of getting visa for Christmas or for my graduation? He is in his late 30's and owns a business, if that matters.

I would appreciate any thoughts. Thanks

Visa for christmas? Who are you??

They wont give him visa for either occasions.

Tell you brother in law to donate that money (visa fee) to some poor family so their children can go to school. If he wants to try for visa regardless than he has better chance of getting it on your graduation.

best of luck.

Though bit of a harsh comment, I still second pirka's comment.

disagree with both above comments.I personally have seen brother in law getting visit visa. I also have seen grandma getting visa. quite honest with you us visa Is totally depends upon consulate. not saying u don't have to have good docs.

Argue with me If I am wrong but I think it all depends on Visa Consulates.
Even if you have all docs are legal, do not want to live here more than 6 months and have very strong home ties to your home country you may be denied visitor visa.
I have seen people getting visa with complete fake documents and getting visa in 1st try. But genuine applicants getting rejected visa with some BS reason for multiple times.
I have even seen people getting visa on 5th attempt with same docs in 1st attempt.

It's the biggest scam and money making machine run by US Embassy in Nepal. They know people will apply again and again no matter what. The saddest part is no one can do anything even the US senator.
It's just outrageous to see how to they operate!
