Dear John (no, this is not a breakup letter),
you are always in my thoughts (platonic ally, I swear:). The reason I reply to your writings is because I genuinely like the light-hearted, sometimes remorseful or irritated, other times, flirtatious anecdotes. From your writings, I can "assume" to be able to gauge your mind and thought process. Aba, you need verification and validation to the reasons why I reply to you, bhania? Kaasto unnyaya! You are right though about Svengali, I would hate to think that people don't respond to his writing (not that he asks for recognition, mind you)--perhaps, they don't know how to.

Keep writing ni!

Galt jyu,
thank you very much for your explanation. i ain't no surgeon or master @ anything...

i was confused .. as always about the location.. only location the story mentioned was hartford and new rochelle and whitestone ... so, i was forced on those territories.
so you meant some villa in the border of CT and MA. not somerville, MA... (O:
or there is a place called someville in MA (O: anyway once again what do i knoe...

actually you are right about the speeding part compared to 95 ( but 100 on 55 for an hour on that road. i told you i would be shitting on my pants. ) but do not get over confident about where cops would be in Merrit... (O: i would @ least name 3 locations where you will find those cheaps bastards pointing their radar guns @ you.
on 15 southbound : right before exit 48. connector from 8.
exit 42
right before harrison airport exit. in that turn after you cross CT state line to NY.

on 15 Northbound: be careful when hutchinson turns merrit. that place is treacherous.
exit 36
right before Hill of 40A-B
exit 42
just before exit 48

but once again that place is not a road for hitting 100 for the whole duration (O: i would be shitting on my pants...

=====================================================
once again i would have to humbly add my line
what do i know (O:

Galt, Thanks for coming back and letting me know that I have no life. Haahaha Sajha really does get addictive and a daily dose or more has become a basic necessity. And about the 'svelte, sultry' beautiful creatures with dogs, damn, I just fell in love with one on the street yesterday...That retard Foucault was so damn true! I constantly fall in love with stangers everyday while on the subway, walking around or even when driving but the thought unfortunately is seldom let out, only contained within where it dies in no time (until I see another pretty one). Makes me wonder if I am a dog for real...Maybe the almighty's computer had a bug when he was handling my reincarnation process.

BTW, you owe me one as my post will bring your thread to the forefront for more exposure once again.

John Dai:

Nearly missed this outstanding piece. Glad that finally I was able to login to Sajha this very morning. We all are grateful that you could still manage some time out of your hectic schedules and come up with this craft. Hope to read some more and my sincere thanks for your kind words.

In my opinion, what makes your writing stand out is the fact that you dont need a plot to make sense and keep people hooked. You can write about being hungry and still come up with a coherent (is that the right word) piece like this. Do you read Jug Suraiya? A few years down the line, I see you writing like him. You are, like somebody else has said before, 'the king of anecdotes'.

I hope you stop being so modest. Because you are genuinely so good.

John,

I hate to be a critic where I write myself, so I won’t play the role of one. The only reason I am responding is because my name is mentioned twice in your reply.

John, you will have a hard time convincing me that ‘falaano’ and ‘dhiskaano’ are better than you. You write anecdotes, and I read them as anecdotes (not short stories). If you choose to do it professionally, you can be one the best in Nepal today; if not the best. Then again, what do I know? I am just a reader.

I have a feeling you too are an engineer. We want stats to fit, we want the number of hits to match the number of responses—that ain’t so—or, maybe, you are just a writer who craves for one response that is all about your writing—that ain’t so either. I deleted my last thread out of frustration and I did not feel bad even for a second.

I thought i wanted to become a writer of sorts but after reading, well trying to read, mr galt's story i felt dumbfounded. What on earth is an 'epicure' and what is an 'elegy'.

I'm gonna have to dig into my suitcase for the copy of the websters english dictionary that i packed into my luggage before leaving KTM.

John,

What a glorious hunger that was. It provoked a great piece like this. God forbid; you don't have to go through any misery like this anymore but you amuse us with their account. Life is good for folks like you who don't contrite on your past misery. While people find reasons to kill themselves, I am pretty sure that you would come back with humorous anecdote of your death experience too. ;) Pardon my wicked thought. I wish you an exciting, healthy and long life.

Camoflagged,
<(Whispering!!!)> Food for thought, your wish would be granted as long as you keep your mouth shut and take your ring off.

The sound of a kiss is not so loud as that of a cannon, but its echo lasts a great deal longer.
- Oliver Wendell Holmes

It sure does, the sound of casual kiss echoes so long, your wife would hear it, and then you hear few other sounds, the slamming of the door and “crash, boom, bang”, there goes your heart. I almost heard them myself few times.

Thapap,
My dear surgeon turned cartographer turned stealth speeder, your info is very much appreciated. I am surprised how you precisely managed to keep account of those locations. I am driving to New York today, and I have printed your suggestion to avoid close encounters. If I reach New York without paying anything except the mandatory tolls, the dinner tomorrow would be on me, provided you live in New York.

For your confusion, it is “some-ville” indeed, not “Somerville”. No prize for guessing, but you are free to speculate where I work. Give a try, because I know you could. WHAT DON’T YOU KNOW?

Sitara,
I liked the way you wrote “bhania? Kaasto unnyaya!” I laughed for few good minutes. Brought tears to my eyes. Lady, you suck typing in Nepali, but it sounded dearer than any thing anyone else typed. Let me have a laugh again.
Also, gauge my mind re? Who do you think I am? Einstein? LOL. Thanks for replying, you made my day.

Samsara,
A dog is a dysphemism for a hard working person. According to my wife, the word that comes close to people who frequently ogle women is “pig”. I have been embellished with that adjective many a times. It was her way to put that a woman who ogles men is certainly not a “b*@#h”. In concern to owing you one, I care least being seen in the homepage of sajha.com these days. But yes, if you live in New York, and could avail yourself, how about a dinner tomorrow night? Thapap is coming too. Just awaiting his reply.

Pervertedmind,
Pleasantries aside, I really like the way “Soch” started; I wish I could get hold of the hardcopy when I travel to New York this time, I bet someone I know possesses it. Call me sometimes; I want to talk to you more about everything. Further, I never really have a schedule that is hectic, it is just that I am eccentric.

Nepalonmymind,
The only thing me and Jug Suraiya have in common is he writes Jugular vein and I read it in complete awe. Unlike many Indian writers who fail to write an absolute page-turner, he writes at a fast pace; alike Khuswant Singh. I am not going to argue about being modest, because if started, the debate takes light-years to concede.

Sum_off,
Just because I mentioned your name in my thread does not mean I expect your reply. You know, and I know that our replies, if started, would end up being effusively mushy admiring each other beyond limits, with me being mushier. The only reason I do not reply to your posts is because you know you write excellent, I know you write excellent, and you know that I know you write excellent.
So, I do not have to reply you just to tell you what a heck of a writer you are, do I? At times, I do want to reply you regarding your flaws, but I never find it. As far as appreciation is concerned, I get piffed sometimes when my wife goes overboard expatiating your posts. She wants me to write like you, but you know we all have our cognitive confinements.

Ratobhaley,
Gosh, your pseudonym makes me hungry again. Most of the time, I google words up if I do not know their meanings. But then google does not give away a good example. Let me have a liberty of including you while I clarify their meanings. An epicure is the one who salivates when he sees you, a “ratobhaley”, and wants to eat you instantly. An elegy is an outcry of the same epicure when he chases you (a “ratobhaley” again) and you out speed him.

Sunnydev,
It was a ravenous story, not glorious. Hunting down a wild boar bare-handed and enjoying its cold cuts later would have been a glorious story. Actually, there was an incident where we had gone hunting all day and ended up purchasing a chicken on our way back. I shall narrate it if I could avail myself a great raconteur-mood and plenty of time. Speaking about narrating my own death, I would sure do it as long as it does not scare others.

john jyu,
all i would say is please do not do 100... WE WANT YOU TO WRITE MORE.

now for a road known for one of the scenic route in US. where there are dense trees on both sides. no lights @ all till after you cross exit 12 in ny side on southbound [ i think it is 12 ]. in addition to deers, raccoons and squirrels standing on the freeway..
anyway hope that you are not a "ullu" i mean owl. with night vision.. who can drive well at night..

personally i avoid that route after 2100 in summer and after 1900 in winter.

and check on those spots i mentioned. you will find a nice place on your "right hand side" where they tend to hang.

Wow,

the simplicty of everyday life, expressed through words under a gigantic social microscope, that is john galt.

moments like such pass us all the time. but most of us are barely able to make such a nifty little piece out of it.

I'm slefishly glad we have John and Sum Off writing here. They both have different styles, TOTALLY DIFFERENT. It makes for an even better reading experience.

Thanks john

Thanks Sum Off
