Hey people, Good morning! I was just driving back from school and was listening to FM and there was this letter that the RJ read. A girl had sent him this letter and I thought it was really touching and also sad. Let me tell you their story... a real life story:
There was this couple that were dating for some time. The guy's dream was to become a coach/teacher for needy people. he got an excellent job offer in New Hampshire and moved there whereas the girl remained in Dallas. The girl was sad but decided to do the right thing -- not chase after the man unless she had an engagement ring on her finger. Two months later the guy calls up the girl and says that he is utterly in love with her and wants her to get married. He also asked her to move to New Hampshire with him and as he knew that she would not move without a job, he arranged for a job for her where he worked. The girl says that she is also in love with him and agrees to marry him and move with him. She needs to give a 2 week notice at her work before she can move though.
Now she goes to work, gives a 2 week notice and explains the circumstances. She tells them she is moving to another state and getting married. Her boss on the other hand gives her a counter-offer. They raise her salary enormously, promote her, pay for her college until she graduates, and offer a receptionist job for her fiance until he can find a good job. Now as flattering as it all was, she had already made up her mind but the boss tells her to think about it over the weekend and give him an answer on Monday. She goes back home and tells her fiance about it, and he asks what she wants to do. She says that she did not want him to give up his dream, so she was still moving.
Now two days later there is a knock at her door, and its her fiance. He drives to Dallas, quits his job so that she can have a good job and education. (Now I was amazed when I heard this. Not a lot of people would sacrifice their own dreams for someone else's. And to accept a receptionist job instead of what he wanted to do. Wow!!) Two months after this (January), he got into a car accident and both his legs were broken. He got fired from the receptionist job, lost all his saving due to medical expenses and has finally started walking without support. They could not even get married because they dont have enough money to get married anymore!
She was so guilty because she thought it was her fault! If she had not told him about the whole thing all of this might not have happened.
This story was so sad that it got me thinking! Just wanted to share with you:)
