Featured game of the Week

No. 9 Arizona at No. 14 Washington, Saturday, 4 p.m. ET (FoxSports Channel)

It's almost March Maddness. Any College Hoops Fan knows what Arizona Basketball is all about and this is the game nobody should miss this week.

An Arizona win would give Coach Lute Olson his 305th Pac-10 victory, a conference record. Coach O tied former UCLA legend coach John Wooden with 304 victories on Thursday.

Arizona and Washington square off for the Pac-10 title Saturday afternoon and is on the verge of a season sweep for the Arizona Wildcats and their 24th league title.

Don't miss it; it's gonna be a game worth watching.

ENJOY ! ! !

Wild West, don't get me wrong. I always liked WIldcats team. I only watched few Wildcats game this year. I find them vulnerable to half court, slow pace game and home court advantage to Utah State. That's why I thought Cats will have hard time beating Utah State. I am glad they Cats won, I picked them to reach sweet 16.

I have picked OK State (Big 12 baby) over Arizona to play be Elite 8 team. Eddie Sutton vs Lute Olson. It would be great match.

Arizona always tops the PAC 10 for recruiting class. Arizona always have a great High school prodigy from all over the US. take a look at shakur. He is the best player to come out of Philadelphia and he landed with Arizona.

Jhapali bro, if Arizona ever to play for final four this year, we will watch it together :=) 97 must beeen the great Arizona team but I have to say 93(?) was the most diappointing team. even with the great khaleed reeves(big fan of his), damon and chirs mills, they tanked it 1st round :s

my final four pick before the tournament - Louisville, OK State, UNC, Syracuse :(

This is what March Madness is all about ? the Shangri-La of College Hoops that every college athlete fancies about. Fans from around the country vying for Miracle to happen and it did this time. Indeed this has been a year of ?UnderDogs?. I wager even the most prominent pundit of college hoops did not expect the 2005 NC2A tournament would be this much crazy yet so much fun. I speculate everyone?s early bracketology 101 prediction has been busted and people have cried. Surely there is so much to gossip about this year?s tournament. For instance, (12) WI-M over (4) BC (so much for the amazing run on season plays), (7) WV over (2) WF ? 2OT (instance classic), (14) Bucknell down (3)KS (Simien and Langford would have never imagined if their career would end up in a disappointment), (13)VT over (4)?Cuse (Did Boeheim expected this?) to name a few.

The point is ?UnderDogs? have prevailed in the Madness. I wish I could be as crazy of a fan as Ashley Judd, who not only attends Kentucky Wildcats games but also hangs in the student section. But let me tell you, the UofA Wildcats are up to a big feat ? a desire to cut down the nets in St Louis. They have played their hearts out in games which were in tremendous pressure (against ASU, UW and UCLA) and achieved a ?W?. The UofA has a reputation of being reffered as the ?Point Guard? University of the West. Watch out for Mustapha Shakur to have an enormous impact on the game against Cowboys tomorrow.

Cats have played as a team in the dance so far; not to forget the deep depth of the bench with contribution from Walters, McClellan and Rogers. With the composure, high spirit and phenomenal performance of Salim, Frye, Adams, Ivan and Shakur, the Cats will accomplish their goal. As Stoudamire last said, ?I?ll end up my career playing in St Louis?. That says it all.
Bring it on Cowboys !
My prediction: UA (82) ? OKST (76)
Go WildCats ! ! !

great reading.

March madness is great. who would have thought last year champion cuse would go home thie early same with Jayhawks.

I thought Syracuse was the most competitive bracket and the chiago the least before the tournamnet. Now it seems exactlyt he oppsite after a week. no1, 2 and 3 seed teams are still playing in Chicago bracket. Tar Heels seem to have easiest schedule ahead.

here's what i think of the OK State and Arizona game.

Arizona:

- needs to establish low post with Frye and kick out to Salim :=)
- feed the ball to Salim as much as possible
- need solid contribution from shakur, he need to be more selfish
- perimeter game is the key (especially for salim)
- contain Graham (who is going to guard him?)
- Make John Lucas work for his shots and try to put him foul trouble(is it possible?)

OK State:

- Curry's determination to fully utilize 2nd (thanks to Coach Sutton) chance
- Expereince experience experience. Curry starts with another 4 players who reached final 4 last year.
- show the whole country how great of a defensive team you are
- you hope Salim have off nite, make him hit the outsider first
- try to get ball out of Salim's hand and make others beat you

Seems this will be a classic game and we will be talking about this game years to come.

Don't be hating me frens from Tuscon, here's my prediction

OK State 78 - Arizona 75

Stoudamire jumper gives UA berth in Elite Eight

As it has most of the season, Arizona went to Salim Stoudamire when it absolutely had to have a basket.

With the Wildcats trailing by one point with 13.1 seconds left, UA inbounded the ball and quickly got the ball to Stoudamire.

Instead of working for a three-pointer, he drove the left side, stopped and elevated for a 15-footer jumper over Oklahoma State's Daniel Bobik.

It went through the net with 2.8 seconds left, lifting the Wildcats to a thrilling 78-77 victory over second-seeded Oklahoma State at Allstate Arena on Thursday night.

Third-seeded Arizona advances to play top seed Illinois on Saturday for the championship of the Chicago Regional and the right to go to the Final Four.

"We've never been to the Final Four," said Stoudamire. "This was great tonight. We want the next one more than any game we've played."

That says it all, people. Stoudamire isn't done yet. No one would have expected Salim last year to do what he is doing this season. Had Sutton known about Salim's plan. Six seniors versus two seniors, a team that had 12 months old final four experience versus the one without for atleast 36 months, talk about the experienced team. "Salim The Dream" for the cats this season. "They've got a great chance to beat Illinois," said OSU coach Eddie Sutton, his face almost pale, his heart broken. "They shot 66 percent." Sorry coach Sutton but Salim had a plan against your team, not me. What a classic piece of play and what a crowd in all the clubs inTucson tonight.I am just lucky.

Go wildcats.

awesome. congratualtion to wildcats and the fans. It was a thriller till the last buzzer. Salim dude seems to be all over the floor, making treys uncoventionally. I guess youwon't become the nation top three pointer shooter w/o smooth touch. Kudos to him.

I took Cowboys to reach the final four. Since Cats won last, I am going tot ake Cats over Illini :=)

what's up with shakur? I can't believe it was the same shakur who was highly touted to come out of Philly area. He better do next time.

Cowboys did a great job and Garaham had a good look for the final shot. It's sad to see the team loss with so many seniors. To make it worse Red Raiders lost too :(
