Hey any one know anything about the US Navy? I am a high school senior who wants to join but my dad is on HB1 visa or something like that and i am dependent on him so i dont have a SS# sooo is it hard to get in? what do i gotta do? any info would be helpful

As a U.S. citizen* you may enlist in the Navy (assuming you meet the other enlistment standards). But what if you are a non-citizen? You can still enlist as long as you meet the following requirements:



Entered the United States on a permanent residence visa or have an Alien Registration Green Card, and
Established a bona fide residence, and
Established a home of record in the United States

There has to be some other way cuz i am not a citizen or permenant resident.

well sorry, there isnt any other way, atlest not that i know of.

as soon as you get ur GC, you are good for going to navy. if it is going to take more time, you might need to choose some other option for your career

Devil, there is no other way. You need to have your greencard or citizenship. I am in the US military. I was in the same situation as you are right now but I joined as soon as I got my greencard. After you join you can get your citizenship within 3 months. Goodluck.

well i wanna do something in American Business thopa bro sooo you know if you get into Navy here they will pay for college and make me a citizen besides nepali army common thats like one of the worst jobs no offence to anyone but you know its true

Devil, Nepal army is the best if you are in the comissioned-officer level. I had a neighbour back in Nepal who was a Capt in the RNA and he had a personal security/baby sitter/cook/driver for him. Isnt thats nice huh? I don't think a US military officer get that much unless you are an 0-6 or above.

haha man i am not joining Navy for the benifit of baby sitters and all that crap i am joining it for college i dont give a rats ass about having butlers and people cook for me. I mean i wanna help nepal but not by joining the damn Royal Neplese Army thats jus crazy
