I feel so sorry about the parents of this baby. In a poverty engulfed country like Nepal. survival of such disabeld babies would be a huge burden to their parents and the babies themselves when they grow, just like the 14 yr boy with 20 inch height. It will be very interesting to study the genetic makeup of this baby. I am sure it would shade some light in the development of anterior part of the body such as neck and head - in particular eyes, and the face. So sad that Nepal is way behind in scientific research and cases like this will not come very often.

I feel so sorry to see that. that is pretty much due to some prenatal stress, i am sure. mutations. yeah...it would be interesting to research on such genetic makeup. however, we r talking here as if this baby is scary...... he is still a baby :( Ask his mother....she probably doesnt find him scary and unworthy of love. the baby is death...... and I pray for his soul to rest in peace.

AND IM NOT A BEAR'S CHILD. SHUT THAT EFF UP. I AM A NORMAL HUMAN BEING UNLIKE THAT CHILD AND I REPEAT, IM NOT AGAINST THAT LIVING BEING, JUST EXPRESSING MY FEELINGS AFTER SEEING IT OH MY GOD. on excédent réagisse...non? je pense que ce bébé n'est pas jolie, mais quoi on peux faire ? it is a physical deformity resulting out of lack of proper nutritions. have you noticed this kind of deformed babies somehow are always born in remote, rural areas of nepal? once there were those twin girls with heads attached, then teh 14yr-old, and so many other cases....

If anyone touched it hard enough then they would figure out it is just a plastic doll. I saw the same doll at some halloween party. They probably didn't sell too many of that model.

Truly, the baby was abnormal, but the disturbing thing was that he was displayed on a bucket as some kind of specimen, and even more disturbing was the reaction of some people at this form. Despite being able to have all the normal functions and quality education, some people are just ignorant. I am sure that parents of that child are relieved that the child didn't survive. I don't blame them. When well educated people can judge that poor child, what would happened to him in that village full of ignorant people? May god bless his soul.

I completely agree with Six Strings. I wonder what makes people wise or civilized. Education? I doubt. Because many who have commented here I would assume are educated, but still they show complete lack of empathy towards the dead soul and his parents, and make mockery out of them. It is sad that the people in the picture below seemed to have enjoyed displaying a dead baby in a bucket. Only if we could give some respect to human life, we would not be in this political mess we are today. For the most part you get what you deserve.

Agree with you Six_Strings. Although I am not a student of biology, I have to recall the Darwin's theory of "Struggle for existence" where he said that only normal genetic behaviour survives in the end. Looks to me like the poor child had some extreme abnormality, although I am not too much sure what kind of (abnormal mutation?), therefore could not survive. I wonder if he was one of his kind only or similar kids were born before as well? Too bad that we don't have good research environment back in Nepal to find out those weird mysteries that the mankind are still not completely aware of. I pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul...

agree with six string and hurray and mr. lonely. it really broke my heart when i saw the baby being displayed like that. i really doubt that his mother is relieved......it is a mother's heart. and some ppl in thif forum........goddddddddd....u guys are the one with an ugly soul....never mind the physical appearance. another baby with a trunk kind of organ was worshipped as incarnation of ganesh...... nepalese mentality!!!!!
