Just saw the video of the protest in Nepalnews, and it's funny how they've all gotten their adrenalin rush in support of that asshole. Ironic too!

I didn't know VIP's had to inform the airport authorities before their arrival at the airport. Was Girija trying to sneak out of the valley or something?

Yeah, it's a shame to see such a prompt and strong protest against this stupid little thing while there are many issues that deserve stronger criticism, ..and of course they will turn a deaf ear to those issues.

We nepalese have the biggest ego problem na.

So what if he was denied entry into the VIP lounge by the security, hardly the crime of the century, is it? But no, it made headline news on national TVs, and the govt swiftly announced a committee to probe into the matter.
I mean, HELLO, have we got our priorities right?

The country is in a deep shit, this is hardly a news material. Who is he anyway- the most corrupt and selfish a**hole ever to have walked on the planet.

I was flabbergasted and angry when this was the first news item on the television, it's not as if he was killed or something. I thought it was given an undue importance.

I am begining to lose my sanity- it won't be long before I start running naked on the streets. I mean, what's wrong with the nepalese and the media??? I concur with the poster who said on another thread that nepalese are the worst people of all.
Yup, we are all friggin d***heads.

Discussions here prove that Nepalese have their minds somewhere in their midriff. Come on guys, here is a military taking over the country, and you are complaining about a 80-year old fighting for your right to live in dignity! Tukucha is not big enough to drown the entire chattering class of Kathmandu.
Nepalese justly deserve the justice of the Maoists. Girija must leave these monkeys to their fate and retire to Kashi.

"I wrote this to get rid of the vitriol in my system, which had accumulated due to our collective fascination with irrationality." Khushwant Singh about his new book.
I mean we keep quite when Maoists kill innoccents but raise a hue and cry when Nepali Congress call for a shut down to oppose the military! We meekly submit to the military excesses but can't put up with a legitimate opposition. All of us must think: do we deserve to be an independent country? Are we fit for democracy? Or we must continue exporting our sisters to Bombay and brothers to Baghdad while we wallow in the military s..t back home? Think....think....the tribe of monkeys who call yourself proud Nepalese.

SO, he was denied entry into the VIP lounge, BIG DEAL, in the eastern and western parts of the country people are not even allowed into THEIR own homes. Many people have been forced out of their homes by the Maoists. Those who dare return have been threatened with execution. What's Girija, the so called "crusader of democracy" doing about it? A BIG FAT NOTHING!
Whereas, a small one off incident like that is reason enough for him to unleash his vengeance on the whole country.

Today, as I was returning home (owing to general strike), there were burning tyres all over the place and I was thinking to myself, GOD this is utter lawlessness. We don't need more of this.

Sure, you can show your displeasure in peaceful ways, and not vandalise the city.
As I write this reply, I am sat at home, confined to my room, because there is a nationwide general strike today called by Girija and his cronies to protest his being debarred into the VIP lounge at the TIA.

If he cherishes his rights so much, surely he MUST respect the rights of twenty four million people, and not forcefully shut down the whole nation. That is sheer double standard.
Seriously, I mean what can we expect of a despicable moron that he is.

And Shaiva, had it not been for our military personnel we would have been under a communist dictatorship by now. Sure, there may have been excesses but we cannot deny the sacrifises that they have made for the country. If you ask me, they are our TRUE HEROES.

I Blame it all the Nepali media. The nepali journalism has has always been highly infuenced by political leadrers. They have not been able to perform at a level that our nation needs. It has not been able to understand the huge power it holds. Bringing in writers of different fields and the ultimate objective should be to deal with the major challenge the the country is facing today. Follow up you damm fool!! thats the only way we know what happened next. Follow the corruption cases on a daily basis . Follow up and publish journals and articles relevant to the talks everyday how its progressing if it is or what needs to be done. Seek help from professionals , intellectuals, profesors, and international media. show people what would be the scenario if the so called demoracy were to prevail in real and show what if the maoists rule would be . campare and contrast . Be a critique. Inform.. Inform and also Educate us. You hold the power.bring it in use. Stand by your duty , be coureageous.

I think Girija and co. had the right to be discontent with the incident in TIA. For one, he is a former PM and by the provision in place, he --though a 'moron,' an 'ass****,' or whatever-- should have been designated a VVIP and allowed in, easily. If the majority should disagree, than the permutation should be changed.

Let us sideline Girija's personality for a time being and try to gauge the situation as neutral observers. A leader of the second biggest democratic party in the country, and a former PM, is stopped from embarking on a journey en route to addressing a mass! because..................??By all indications the guards at the airport were well aware of Koirala's imminent visit. In this light, how can their behaviour be justified? And isn't something sinister, either on the part of the government and, or, the security men implicated? If not, let the security personnel justify their action.

Yes, we Kathmanduies were up to here with bandhas. The student unions should have thought of other means to voice their displeasure. But again, by the turn of recent events, all indications are that every other means, except bandhas, is futile to get the message across to concerned authorities in Nepal. This is a sad and worrying trend. Unless a shut-down is called, it seems,it is nigh impossible to be heard. The authorities, not immune to our 'kan ma tel halera basne bani,' act nonchalantly unless the situation gets out of hand and drastic actions are called for by the victims.

Let's hope common sense prevails next time 'Girija babu,' or any other dignitary, accousts the men in green in.

First of all, they denied the admission to a person whose actions have cost so much loss to our nation. So, it is actually good to know that. Anyways, as the nation has more important and crucial things to heed upon, extra strikes, protests and bandhs are only worsening the situation. One newspaper indicates that Kathmanduits are now tired of such forcibleness of parties.
Girija, if he was a good politician, after knowing how much people have suffered from strikes, vandalism, etc., should have called upon the supporters not to go for the vandalism and strike at least for better of Kathmanduits. But as a nagging child, he wants the focus to be turned on himself. "They didn't let me in, so all other citizens should suffer" and as a dirty politician, as he always was, he will come up with some spicy theories of conspiration. Girija, now should have voiced for the nepalese stuck in iraq, the nepalese being tormented in Nepal, but he is more busy with his own problems.
Right now, all we need is peace in Nepal and more strikes and forcibleness by parties is not definitely a way to go.

Well, Ted Kennedy also was having lots of trouble to get on the airplanes until few days ago. He had to go thru strip search virtually everytime he had to fly for the last 13-14 months, no one even knew about it, he never made a big fuss about it and I don't see any uproar or anything from the Democrats except few newspaper publising about it and ACLU asking the TSA to remove his name from the list.
Not that I am trying to compare Girija to T Kennedy, but just an obvious juxtapose of politicians from two different countries.
Oh, I wish there was America bandh too...

Supreme Court is going to give verdict on Girija's case pretty soon. Perhaps that's why Girija is trying to show his strength by creating this havoc.

Create fictitious problem at TIA, then ask the cadres to burn tires and so on using money from his unkown dhukuti.

Hey Maoist.. the first thing you guys should do is f*** this 80+ budha. Anyways you guys are quite experienced in killing such old aged budhas.

I wonder why Girije's and his paid followers do not call bandhs after the massacre of 12 nepalese by terrorist in Iraq.

Shame on you Girije... You are a filthy, senseless, idiotic useless Budha. You don't have any idea what the meaning of life.

Excerpts from the "Dead Constitution of Nepal"

PART 3

FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS

12. Right to Freedom:

(2) All citizens shall have the following freedoms:

(D) FREEDOM TO MOVE THROUGHOUT THE KINGDOM AND RESIDE IN ANY PART THEREOF; AND

((4) NOTHING IN SUB-CLAUSE (D) SHALL BE DEEMED TO PREVENT THE MAKING OF LAWS WHICH ARE IN THE INTEREST OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC, OR WHICH ARE MADE TO IMPOSE REASONABLE RESTRICTIONS ON ANY ACT WHICH MAY JEOPARDIZE THE HARMONIOUS RELATIONS SUBSISTING AMONG THE PEOPLES OF VARIOUS CASTES, TRIBES OR COMMUNITIES;

Does anyone know of any law which prevents the movement of a citizen of Nepal within Nepal? The question here is not whether Girija is a good guy or a bad guy but can a citizen be denied from his right of free movement. I know the constitution is no longer alive but what about NATURAL LAW?

"In Nepal rule fools and exception rules" because "Maathi bata aadesh aa ko cha."

Girija was not prevented to ride the plane to Bhairawa. It's only his precious car that was prevented from passing the security point and directed to taxi stands. Now that car thing is not mentioned in the consitution,or is it?

Mathi Bata Aadesh perhaps decided not to pass his car at that moment for certain reason... but certainly he was not prevented to board the plane. He could have walked upt to the terminal without fear if he is janapriya neta. What's he afraid of? Anyways, that's how Gundhas move!!!!
