Sangina(height 5'3", wt 148 lbs) won her Gold in Asian Championships(Melbourne 1997) and she is playing with a player from Tai-Pei (height 5'5", wt 146 lbs), so we have a chance of victory. But that still puts us on Quarterfinal, after winning which we have a 3 in 4 chance of getting a medal. I think there is a hope.

Old news from Nation.com.np:
Six corporate houses, Dabur Nepal, ICTC, Jyoti Group, Nabil Bank, Nepal Lever and Vaidya Group have appointed taekwondo star Sangina Baidhya as their brand ambassador. They promise to raise money for her participation in the upcoming Olympic Games in Athens. Sangina is the first official Nepali athlete scheduled to take part in the Olympics, though Bidaan Lama won a medal in taekwondo during the demonstration match at the Seoul Olympics in 1988. Sanginaýs track record has been stellar in recent years. She won golds at two straight SAF Games and other Asian championships. She will be training in Korea prior to her participation at the Olympics

Hmm.. Nepal's Sangina Baidya's opponent in First Round is
Chen Shih Hsin who she lost to during semiFinals in Asian Taekwando qualification. Chen eventually won the Finals.

Hey, atleast she gave us some hope.
Congratulations Sangina for qualifying. This probably was your last Olympic but I am sure you have inspired many others to follow.

Nepal is still struggling for gaas, baas and Kapas; forget winning in olympics. We need to get out of the stone age so that we can re-prioritize things and give more attention to sports. Just think, how many parents would let their kid live their dream even if they are interested in pursuing a career in sports. Should be glad that someone is at least carrying a flag from Nepal. You would be surprised to know how many Chinese don't even know where Nepal is?

Oh Bedrock....

Its nice to make comments like that right?
I think it would be a good idea if you start some classes that would teach all of us (Nepalese) on how to get out of so called "STONE AGE."

May be its about time to do something. Lets see what your plans are...

The girl who Sangina lost to in the first round eventually got the GOLD medal. Sangina had another chance, but she lost to a Colombian as well.

you need commusim in country to win lots of medal in olympics. If moabadi rules the nepal then nepal will win lot of medals in olympic.

i am not moabadi supporter. The theory of commusim keeps the nation togther and on hold
