Sathtimro,

There is cure for everything but not for stupidity and hypocracy.

We can awake people who are sleeping , but can not do any thing if somebody is already awaken and behave as if he/she is still in deep sleep.

When I read stupid people making arguement ,I can just laugh. There is no way to convince them. They are just  hypocrates. And there is no way to cure hypocracy.

Does it matter where he was born, 2500 years ago there was no India or Nepal. India was created in 1947. I think this arguement of where Buddha  was born is ridiculous. Do we hear people argue where Jesus Christ was born? Is he a Israeli, Palestinian or a Lebanese?

Follow the message, the prescription, not where the doctor was born.

Hey badarkata,

Was there a country called India at that time? As far I understand India is a new country established by British somewhere around 1800 AD few years after they colonized this geographical area.

if we should talk about the Buddha, we should talk about his teachings. if it makes sense, we should practice. this is beneficial. Buddha discouraged discussions that is not beneficial.

That said I think we should carry on discussions for something unknown or unresolved. It is well known throughout the world that he was born in Lumbini of modern Nepal.

Someone talked about wikipedia mentioning Pakistan, so I checked it out. This is what wikipedia says:
"Siddhartha was born in Lumbini[10] and raised in the small kingdom or principality of Kapilvastu, both of which are in modern day Nepal. At the time of the Buddha's birth, the area was at or beyond the boundary of Vedic civilization, the dominant culture of northern India at the time; it is even possible that his mother tongue was not an Indo-Aryan language.[11]"

Regardless of place of birth, if Buddha is not in ones heart it does not matter whether he existed or not let alone place of birth.
