months, may be years...may be never, depends on the homeland guys

why do you want to move to US anyways? or if already here, why need citizenship? i truly respect all the dreams you have but in terms of social life, this place sucks man. i'm going back to nepal once i'm done with my phd.

I also want to get a US citizenship so i can come in usa and show off to you Americans
how great Nepal is.
But how can i start doing or having the us citizens?
Can you american nepali sponsor me to get us citizens. I just want the passport because
i'm NOT going to live there in america. it is just for visiting and showing off to people only.
I just cannot leave Nepal.

As much as i love Nepal, I don't think i will be able to live in a country that cannot provide electricity for up to 18 hrs a day in a 24 hr day! I proud to be a Nepali and I do want to go back home but i just cannot imagine life in Nepal anymore. But my intention is not to bash Nepal or anything, it is just my view and I am not trying to impose it on anyone.
Getting back to my original question, does anyone really know how long it takes? I am sure it takes more than a couple of months.

If you are already 18 years or above, you have to file seperately and it can take at least of 8 years. For your parent, it will take about 6 months to a year. in some cases, it can take upto 3 years. If you are below 18 years and will still be below 18 when they approve your application, you will get your PR together with your parents.
