This FYI is for all the individuals who were fortunate to be picked in the lottery for H1B and are currently working because of the provision of Automatic CAP GAP extension till October 1^st.

 

You will need to inform your University regarding your change in status and they will confirm the information from SEVIS and provide you with new I-20 stating the facts that you are approved for H1B starting October and increase your OPT till that period with CAP GAP extension. I found from my University that this is a necessary process in order to show that we were in continued status. This may help during the stamping process for visa extension.
