HeNNites

AN INSPIRING LOVE AND CHARITY

We often hear of "charity begins at home." A young Nepali bride and an Australian bridegroom have put into practice what has been preached for centuries.

S. Shrestha and Mr. M (Name shortened for their Privacy) recently wedded, requested their guests to donate money for two charities in Nepal and Australia instead being lavished by wedding gifts. They chose Help Nepal Network and the Australian Heart Foundation as the recipients of their generosity.

Not many young couples starting out in their new life would so readily forsake the gifts that would have brought them so much comfort and memories of their guests.

S. Shrestha and Mr. M raised over A$2800.00 (two thousand eight hundred dollars) and each of the above organizations received half of the money raised. This is truly a story of love, sacrifice and dedication.

S. Shrestha surfed the net and discovered HeNN and its activities. She was not only convinced HeNN was going to be a recipient of her generosity but also volunteered to be an active member. She was part of the team instrumental in making the recently held fund raising musical concert/dinner in Sydney a successful event and she will continue to make a difference to the lives of many children of Nepal .

HeNN Sydney would like to take this opportunity to thank the new couple wishing them many years of happy married life and would also like to share this with the global HeNN.

Rai

Lots of people who do good for other people do choose to remain anonimous. Even in this Sajha, lots of people donate anonimously.

I got the above message in email from Australian team and few hours later, another email with the news in Nepalnews.com.

After posting that I went back to work so I could not check my mail. Any way, now you know who were they?

BTW if you are willing to make small contribution do check this link:

Nepe,

We have not forgotten your contributions. Shall we publicize for one more round of selling your book?

Shirish,

A wedding sounds better than books. I sure will think about it when I re-exchange my vows. :-)
