I got married last January, but never changed my tax status. It is still single. Now I'm filling my tax as 'married filling jointly.' Is that any problem? Did anyone experience the same problem before?

you can only file 'Married joint return' if you were married as on 31st of Dec. 2007 or before. You can't file this time. hope this helps you.

I got married in January 2006, but never filled a new W4 with my employer to change my tax status.

Doesn't matter what you did in past, if she has social security no. you can file married, if she doesn't have SSN or she is in nepal,  you (she, must sign) have to apply W7 (you can go Irs.gov and search W7). good luck bro.
