I am looking to buy a Car - probably a used one. I am willing to invest 5000 to 7000. Can anyone let me know what is a good interest rate for getting financed? What model and year is the best one for me? I am kinda new to this. Thank you for your advice.

0 is the better interest rate u can ever get when buying a car. but when u go buy a car at some dealership, u're gonna get screwed anyway, no matter what kind of deal u get.Ttry to bargain the price if u go to any dealership. they tend to go down up to few thousands if u're paying all in cash. However, u u decide to finance it, do the math. how much the selling price is?how much a month?how many payments?at the end how much would u pay by the time u pay it off?i think 4-5%APR is pretty reasonable.Rest, its up to u.Just make the sales person feel like u don't have to get it if u'r not satisfied with the price.

here is another tip. Get approx market price of car you are looking for and then goto dealer. you can check the market price of your car at http://www.kbb.com and then goto dealer. I believe in that case, you wont' be screwed too bad. So, make sure what kind of car you want in what price range. And if you are financing, it depends upon lots of factor that determine your interest rate. If you are really looking for financing, its good to check your credit score yourself. Plus point checking your credit score yourself is, it will be soft pull and won't impact anything in your credit history. Also make sure one more thing while financing, ask your dealer whether your interest will be calculated on remaining principle you owe or initial purchase price. Because if you have to pay only interest in the amount you owe then your interest will decrease in each installment you pay.

i suggest you to buy cash car since you are willing to pay up to 7 G's......
u will definitely find some decent car on that price range and the good thing is that you don't have to pay those extra dollars on insurance and monthly payments.

Dont have much to say about the pros and cons of different brands,,but definitely make sure that u ask a few questions regarding the critical parts like timing belt, water pump and give it a real rough drive test on some open parking space just to make sure that nothing squeaks or rattles..and further check stuffs like serpentine belts, CV joint boots,,engine mounts,, and u will be safe irrespective of what u pay..
