Let's help Arbind Bhattarai. Message below from Rajendra Shrestha, President, Nepalese Association of Houston Dear Friends and Friends of Nepal, Arbind Bhattarai moved to Houston about two years ago from Pennsylvania. He is currently pursuing his studies at Houston Community College. He is a 22-year-old young man from Kalanki in Kathmandu, Nepal. Unfortunately for Arbind, his family, and all of us, he has recently been diagnosed with a serious case of Lymphoma Cancer. Arbind has received six chemotherapy sessions since November 2005 at Ben Taub Hospital in Houston. According to his physician, his health condition is serious and he now needs a bone marrow transplant in order to survive. Since Arbind does not carry any health insurance, and he is neither a permanent resident nor a citizen of the US, he is facing an uphill battle to get admitted to a hospital with such capabilities. To say the least, Arbind is currently fighting for his life. Ad revenue will be contributed towards Help Arbind Fund Arbind's parents, Narayan and Guddy Bhattarai, who traveled all the way from Nepal, and his friends Suraj Shrestha and Niraj Shrestha, have been taking care of him since November 2005. Nepalese Association of Houston has set up the “Help Arbind Fund,†to help defray the cost of his treatment. We are accepting donations to help Arbind get admitted in the hospital. Your contributions will help save the life of Arbind, one of our own young Nepali students. So please open your hearts to support Arbind at this difficult and trying time. Kindly forward this e-mail to your friends and relatives. Please pledge your support by responding to this e-mail and make the check out to “Nepalese Association of Houston†with “Help Arbind Fund†in the memo line in the lower left corner of your check. The checks should be mailed to: Nepalese Association of Houston 6776 Southwest Freeway, Suite 450 Houston, Texas 77074 Nepalese Association of Houston is a non-profit organization – tax exempt under section 501(c) (3) of the IRS Tax Code. Therefore, your donations are tax deductible. On behalf of Nepalese Association of Houston, we deeply appreciate your generosity and kindness in helping Arbind. We have successfully created a family atmosphere here, and it is our responsibility to care for our own. We are looking forward to hearing from you soon. Needless to say - time is of essence in this particular case. Best regards, Rajendra Shrestha President, Nepalese Association of Houston - www.helparbind.com

625 hits and no response. Come on!! everyone do soemting i mean donate something for Arbind so he can recover. We all helped other people who needed our help in past and we can help him too. Nothing is more precious than a life and if we all can help someone who can have a chance to live again, why not. Every single dollar will help. We never know when we need help.

I have contributed to mr. Arbind's cause. I was wondering if Houston Organization will post their goal and where they stand on his fund. Something like Chicago Organization did for Jessica. I emailed them couple of times already but no resposne so far. Please contribute if you haven't done so, yet. You can make a difference.

Mansion, you are right. Moral support is also as important factor as financial support. I am sure that most of us have donated to support Arbind's Medical Expenses. It would be better, if anyone from Nepalese Association of Houston could come and tell us what is the targeted fund and how much they need more.

In Last few months, we have heard a lot about nepalese getting in accident, lost or hospitalized. And most of us have expected help thru various organizations in states such as ANA and state wide organization. In the mean time, may be it would equally be fruitfull in the future if we also contribute to these organization, so when the time comes they have more tangible resources to help us.
