This work is definitely of a royalist.

Most of us believe that Maoists actions are not good for people and Nepal. But, we need to bring them back to the mainstream from the jungle to stop further bloodshed. This is the demand of the time and people as we can not stay forever in the uncertainly and fear.

instead, down with monarchy and royalists!!!

In democracy everyone would have the right to ask for human rights and that includes royalists or monarchy. In Maoist Republic - royalists or monarchy as well as democratic parties will not be allowed that freedom. It is per the wishes of the select few.

Some people may consider royalists as more evil but I think they are the lesser of the two evils, Maoists being the worst. If your family members were tortured in front of you by the Maoists during the last decade, then you would understand why Prachanda should be brought to justice. May be you will now say that all of them killed by the Maoists were royalists? That's your right to believe but the fact remains true and the truth wins in the end.

Time can heal many things but it can't clean up sins. I would never bring a wild tiger to my home to make myself feel safer and I cant even give it the benefit of the doubt - 10/15 yrs history is enough for me to conclude that.

Prachanda will be either prosecuted or killed by his own cadres. Thats my belief, you have the right to believe otherwise.

what i don't understand is..if maiost come in power are they going to rule the country like mao that used to rule china like????? I dont think it is possible to rule like that way in the twentyfirst century..when the king have absolute power you can see the international world creating pressure..when maiost try to rule country like there way i am sure international sector will put them in lot of pressure like putting them in sanction.just like you can see hamas....
I personally think maiost can never rule country like that way...if they join with main political stream also they should be ready to get rid of guns and be liberal..that way only i think bloodshed will end..otherwise if we don't compromise from both side more blood shed will takes place....

if Maoists come to power and rule as per the wishes of select few, what makes you think that China will not again say - it's Nepals internal issue? Do you think Yechuri from India will ask his government to put sanction against Nepal?

I foresee CA as a path for Maoists to legitimize their constitution. Putting sanctions against Hamas - do you think it has helped the general people who dont care about politicis? Do you think Hamas will give up because of International pressure? I dont think so because they have the support from Iran. Now, replace 'Hamas' with 'Maoists' and 'Iran' with 'China' and read the previous sentence again. That is what I foresee, you probably dont.

You may think giving in to Maoists will bring everlasting peace but I think that will instead prolong the fight for at least another 50 years.

Give me a break. One poll I read suggested that approximately 19% of Nepalis support the Maobadis. It's obvious to me that the best solution is to make a compromise with the maoists. What about all the unlawful killings by the Nepalese army? We can't sweep other crimes under the rug. I myself come from a long line of congress supporters, but if you don't compromise you're not gonna have peace.

http://web.amnesty.org/wire/November2003/Nepal

"At least 18 people were shot dead in Nepal by members of the Royal Nepal Army (RNA) in August. Reports of the massacre emerged on the eve of peace talks between the government and representatives of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist). Ten days later, on 27 August, the seven-month ceasefire agreed by both sides collapsed"

For more just copy-paste that link above.

highfly and some others,

mind you language. if you understand what i meant, and if you are not royalist, you would have interpreted me correctly. I hate maoists as much as i do monarchy and royalists. i have slept in cold floors of TU teaching hospitals looking after some victims (they are of course my dear ones) of Maoists several nights and i understand the pain that our country and we people suffering through. but what i think is that if the royalists and monarch were not that much hungry of power and money, we would be better off by this time.

what i was saying is that if you start prosecuting them from now, they will go back to the jungle and take the life of at least one more member of your family. instead, you can bring them to the justice once they come to mainstream and lay down their arms. and this is the demand of time and people. i was assuming that general people who support the ongoing movement agaisnt absolute monarchy (technically it's not ended) does not talk about prosecuting maoists from now unlike any royalists. even Girija, an ultra-rightist, is not saying that Maoists should be prosecuted from now.

shall i call you f**king airhead(s) or d*mp?

hey Chintak, do you think those brutal maoists will be pardoned forever? hell no. once things get settle down, there should be some sort of trials going on them even though they played some role so that it seems possible now to build Nepal by the participation of all levels/castes of people.

Politics is mostly a game of power. Common citizens can speak their mind because they are not worried about the game as long as they can facilitate the game. Politicians, being players, care more about winning the game than just playing. Who has won once tries to defend the title almost at any case, and for them to defend the title they got to be in the game. This is where public interest clashes with politicians’.

If politicians are comfortable in acquiring, maintaining, and enhancing power, only then the game is for “fair” for them. Pretty soon, we will start hearing losers scream of foul play.

Even if this Prachanda comes to the table other ugrachandas will rise in the hills and villages as long as the government does not introduce policies substantial enough to provide gas, bas, and kapas for the poor. This will not happen over night but the government should at least have plans to begin with. I don’t know what plans, if any, do these people who claim to be leaders have for the time to come. Yes, we already know what they want today. But, why don’t they tell us about what they have in mind for tomorrow.
