The US embassy website says that you can just submit covid vaccine test if you are not vaccinated but my travel agent is saying that vaccine is required. Any idea?

abin aryal,

The PCR test report will work. We went to Nepal last year without any issues. Nobody in our family in the USA or in Nepal took the jab and we are still doing fine. We never had covid, just a minor flu in 2021, which we recovered using Flu medication. By the way, We never even wore a mask in public areas. So, don’t worry, you will be fine with a PCR report.

Thuloba Thank you for sharing your firsthand experience. Good to hear there are others who did not take that jab.

Ram bhakta are you basing your response on experience or just gut feeling?

Emirates asked vaccination card last weekend to someone I know flying to Nepal. Check with your airline about their policy.

I read in US immigration site that if you are US citizen then vaccine card is not required. I am more concerned about Nepal

FYI, we did not need any PCR test/report when we returned to the United States from Nepal since everyone in my family are US Citizen. Basically, you only need PCR report when entering to Nepal but no need when you return to US if you are US Citizen. I hope this helps.
