If u bury dead bodies, u can go and visit in a cemetry once in awhile and show a respect not like cremating and telling them that y'all gone forever from our lives.

The people, who have a stake in keeping Bagmati clean, need to understand the following: 1) each inhabitant in Kathmandu needs to learn to REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF WASTE one generates. An immediate thing one can do is STOP USING DISPOSABLE ITEMS and REPLACE THEM WITH REUSABLE ITEMS. They have to stop using plastic products whenever possible. Shopping outlets should start charging for plastic bags and encourage reusable bags instead. 2) each person has to learn to REUSE ITEMS as many times as possible before it is deemed to be a waste. If the item still has life, then it can be donated at second-hand centers that need to be propped up if the latter do that exist around towns. 3) if the item is declared a waste, then those items should be cleaned by the user and then sorted and collected as RECYCLABLES if possible.. 4) if the waste cannot be recycled then each citizen needs to learn to DEPOSIT them at GARBAGE/TRASH RECEPTACLES made rampantly available at every turn in the cities. If the government has to tax the citizens for that, so be it. VAT(Value Added Tax) could be a practical place to charge for a consumer item which is also a potential trash. Composting should be incentivized and widely practiced, when feasible. "Cleanliness is next to Godliness" - is what I remember from my classroom-walls of my dear old school. Now tell me this - who else is more fit to take that quote to heart other than the people of Kathmandu city that once seemed have more temples than houses and more gods and goddesses than people?

You know how some older generation tries to act like their time was better than ours. Anyway once when I was in KTM one of my uncle was telling me how his time was better and the water of bagmati was clean and the water level was high etc. I just asked him a simple question.as we are teenagers we do not have money to build a house so doesn't that mean your generation is building the house and dumping all the garbages in Bagmati. So is our generation responsible to pollute the river or yours? I haven't still got the answer yet
